Check out these cool photos and textiles by Iranian artist Sarah Rahbar. I love photos like this where it makes you think about the state of the world, yet is so beautiful. Check out her Myspace (link below) to see more of of her work. I remember growing up as an American -Iranian as a child and getting teased by a douche who remains nameless in the 4th through 8th grade. He used call me a terrorist and throw eraser “bombs” at me in class. And the teacher would do nothing because his father was in the town council or some crap like that. Basically, that kid could get away with anything. Then high school came and they sent him off to some private school ( thankfully for me, but what a waste of money for the parents).  The last photo reminded me of that time. I don’t know what happened to that kid… I should google him and send him a virtual middle finger… is there a site for that?

French Designers, Ab- Irato

have designed a clutch worthy of any Bond fan. As you may already know, I am a fan of James Bond and weapons like Brass Knuckles , Lipstick knives and guns. So, this would fit perfectly into my wardrobe! Retailing at 93 Bristish pounds, which is like $100 million US dollars, it’s a steal if you’re NOT American. By the time I finish typing this blog, it will  be $200 million US dollars. Anyinflation, this would go great with a killer black dress, 5 inch stilletos and oh yes, red  lipstick.

Indian designer ,Manish Arora  deisgns are anything but ordinary. The clown inspired collection featured a carousel dress dress (thrid thumbnail) that Katy Perry wore to the 2008 MTV European Music Awards. I really like that dress although the others are a little fug. Visit his website for more stuff including a line of shoes with Adidas called ‘Fish Fry’. My favorite shoes are these. His newest collection is killer, too.

I love , love, love vintage clothing. I love, love, love Ebay. It’s a ‘danger zone’ for me along with TJ Maxx, Neiman Marcus and Cinnabons. But if I were to step into the Danger Zone, I would happily do it with VioletVille on Ebay. They specialize in vintage dresses from the 1930’s, 40s and 50s. I think clothes from those eras fit me better than today. Today , I can be a size 6 or a size 0 depending on what brand I’m wearing. I find that vintage clothes were made  more for the petite woman and I fall helplessly into that category. According to my husband , I’m a shrimp. I don’t mind…. because I wouldn’t be able to wear vintage if I wasn’t a shrimp. Speaking of shrimp, I adore those cocktail dresses from the 1950s, especially the black ones with the pearls and bows. Back to VioletVille, check out their latest auctions and get carried away into an era of deviled eggs, cocktail dresses, and kitten heels.

It’s Christmas! And I leave you with photos of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Miami. I look forward every year to the Fashion Show and am amazed by all the work put into these skimpy, beautiful outfits. Of course, this show entices me to go into a Victoria’s Secret at the mall and realize that it is vastly different than what was shown on TV.  I always like Victoria’s Secret but they should mass produce some of the showy outfits that are in their fashion shows. I don’t know where I would wear them , but  would love to see some of them hanging in my closet!

Well, have a lovely holiday, give thanks, and regift !

xoxo,

roxy

Emilie Zanon designed these hats. I don’t know if I like them. No. Computer says No. No, I don’t like them. The third photo reminds me of those tribal ladies in Africa with boobs down to their ankles. I’m sorry, that is so juvenile of me. But I can’t help it. The guy in the first photo looks like he may have been duped into this photo shoot with a pack of Winston’s and a forty ounce. It’s probably someone super important that going to blacklist me now. Anywhocares, if want more of this fugliness , visit Emilie’s myspace. She does other things besides hats.

Fabuless Fashionista’s blog featured the strangest shoes ever and here are just a few. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find each shoes designer ( That may be a good thing -considering some are heinous), but here they are anyway. The first photo are painful looking and I hate feet (except for my kid’s feet) , so that just gross.I just don’t like the toes and in between the toes, etc.. and Yes, I have a problem.  The second photo are “dog shoes”! I first looked at it and thought Narnia! Or Sarah Palin house slippers. The third photo looks like a sea urchin and could be of great use in a back alley brawl. The glass slipper is pretty cool, but imagine if it shatters on your foot. ouch…. And the last photo , is just fupe. It looks like you could poach eggs in it if you wanted.

Designers Han & Brikauski had an Aha- moment when they designed the Hood Thong. The aha moment occurred when they were put a hood on their head when they were chilly and realized it’s not their ass. No kidding.. I have no idea why or how they came up with this. But it looks like something Kylie Minogue would order one in every color. This could be hot if there was a top attached then you could wear it to the beach. But, it has no top, so in my book it’s pretty much useless. On their site , you can pre-order… before they make it in ‘factories in China’. I can just see the children wondering what the fupe are they making. Poor things : (

I discovered Shana Logic about 5 years ago when they were just a small company on the Pixie Girl Presents website. Over the past few years, they have grown to include hundreds of unique, cute, handmade things ranging from arm warmers, ipod gear, to jewelry. Priced very reasonably, I have ordered from then several times and was more than satisfied with the products. They make great little gift items and are also adoptable to you. Monsters need love , too.

British designer/ genius designed these Geisha platform shoes. These are cool only for photo shoots, anywhere else you would look silly. I had a pair of real Geisha platforms made for me in Kyoto, Japan during our honeymoon. They are super cool, but only for decoration purposes because they are so fragile.

So, Chinese foot binding comes to mind when I see Geisha shoes… click here for some honest to gross photos of some lady whose foot has been bound since birth. She’s old now, but her feet are the size of a cigarette pack or an Ipod. She walks with a cane (I wonder why!) and her feet are shaped in the same form of her shoes that are pointy and have a wedge heel. It looks like she needs to dip her feet in Calgon and get a foot massage- STAT!
