This is the brilliant work of Andrea Kett who has designed for clients like Lulu Guinness. Pretty, dainty, humorous and wicked at the same time, Kett’s work is just what I need to hang throughout my home. Check out her Etsy shop if you want to order some prints for you or that special girly vixen in your life. I can’t stop looking at these. Each piece is equally gorgeous and glamorous beckoning to the 1950s! I wish I could just plaster my walls with all of them!

I love Maya Hansen’s “Cake Corset Collection”! It’s so yummy! With names like ‘Mint Chocolate Corset’ and ‘Cherry Blue Corset’, you’re going to want to have a cupcake party with everyone wearing corsets! ….. maybe not. Click here for an actual cupcake corset.  But, I do like the color combinations and extra ruffles. You can never have too many ruffles! And you can never have too many ruffled curtains.  Also, I thought I’d throw in some Kiss and Metallica corsets… trying to balance the sweet with some rock!

So, I had a few occasions recently where I had to clean up nice and wear something other than my pajamas (the red and white polka dotted PJs). So I took photos. Here they are….The seafoam suit is a vintage 1950s Louis Feraud suit. I cut off the shredded sleeves and made a cap sleeve and took the remaining material and made a frayed  flower on my lapel.

The blaring orange construction site suit is a 1960s Saks Fifth Avenue suit ( It didn’t have a designer’s tag for some reason).  I like to think of it as a close resemblance to Miu Miu Fall 2010, like in this earlier post. Both of these suits I have since high school, so I’m extra happy that I still fit into them. Yay, for vintage!

Stockholm designer Bea Szenfeld‘s latest collection is nothing short of spectacular. No machinery or laser-cutting were used in the collection. That’s impressive, since each one is so intricate. I think my favorite is the oversized pearl necklaces. It looks like a toddler wearing grown up necklaces. So cool! The hooded, scaly outfit is pretty rad, too. I like flicking the scales from the bottom up and listening to that ‘diling diling’ sound. I know, I’m part cat – these things amuse me. Bea is another one to watch!

This is all kinds of awesome! I just discovered Lyndon Wade’s fabulous art photography and I’m glad because this sits near the top shelf with David Lachapelle. Wade did a series called the ‘The Lyndon Show’, which is a series of circus side shows. Wade also did a series with references to the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds, featuring scared little chirruns running away from black ravens. Epic stuff. Not only does Lyndon do artsy stuff on the side , but he also does commercial ads (dude gots to pay his rent!) like the masterpiece above for Fresh Step. I love it ! The face on the cat is priceless, although the face could also pass for a cat about to drop dead. 😦 Mr. MarMar is not amused.

Mr. Marmar

Anyway, I look forward to seeing more of Lyndon’s work.

Spanish designer Manuel Bolano gave us bears and geniously constructed silhouettes in his latest collection. I love love love the bears, but they are teetering on looking like a tumor. It’s not a tumor!

Anyway, the shoulders are fantastic in the second and fourth photos- they are definitely something I would wear! The bowl cut’s are a little FUG, though. It looks like the infamous Peter Pan dude here. Anyway, I think Manuel is one to watch, but I’m not sure why his website is a Myspace and Facebook page. Dude needs to get a sponsor STAT so he can get a decent website up and running. He totally deserves it.

The Blonds are on my radar after reading about Miley Cyrus’ Peacock Corset on several other blogs. So I  put on my Sherlock Holmes cap and did some heavy duty research (I googled them) and saw that they actually have collections. I’m surprised because they aren’t on Style.com’s directory and they should be. I mean this is Couture, y’all! These are some gorgeous creations that remind me of a little bit of  Heatherette.  Completely showstopping, their corsets are beyond ornate! I mean each piece must weigh more than an Olsen.I think my fave is the pink feathers outfit. Soooooooooo gorgeous! By the way, the last photo are The Blonds- dang! They look like Nordic beauty queens! Bravo!
