Where, oh, where did Yang Du come from?! We must share the same brain! These cartoon dresses are beyond awesome and yes, I would wear them all day, even to a funeral. My favorite have to be the cartoon eyes in the first photo and of course, the Batman dress. Fluffy, knit lion fingers have to be the funnest ever! Flipping the bird would take on a softer message. By the way, the eye makeup on the models is pretty rad, too. So, Yang Du is pretty hard to find and I seriously would like one of those dresses. Checkout his earlier collections below. Pretty fupe, huh? I’d totally sit next to that old lady on the bench and chat about cats.

The cherry on top (couldn’t resist) of this collection was the girly silhouette of short foufy skirts. That is my favorite- looks like a doll! Although the patterns were a little busy, I approve of this collection because the silhouette saved this collection’s ass. It’s like Pippi Longstocking collided with a 1950’s Bavarian housewife. Hearts all around! Wunderkind is gonna be on my radar blip from now on… I promise.

If you ever wanted to blend into your Nana’s basement wall or be all ninja in front of your shady uncle’s station wagon, this may be for you. Rodarte sent models down the runway with woodgrain (‘faux bois‘ if you wanna be all fancy-like) print ensembles for their Spring 2011 collection. Seriously, the only reason I would wear head to toe woodwork was if I wanted to get all stealth in the woods and get up close to nature and stuff. But with my luck, some angry chipmunk or aggressive woodpecker would probably try to peck or bite me, so ….NO, that would actually be a bad idea come to think of it. I have to admit I have a pair of Puma trainers that are wood grain with pink neon laces that I designed through Mongolian BBQ/Puma. Although, I have yet to wear them in the woods, whenever that will be! I’ll be sure to pack my mace.

I swear that’s the same plastic covered lace I use as placemats. In any case, this collection by Jessica Madden is really awesome! I mean the ruffles, the lace, the shiny plastic! It’s like I’m in Elizabethan heaven! Madden has just graduated The University of Westminster and this was her senior fashion show. She is definitely one to watch as she has major talent. I can spot talent a mile away, by the way. Take for instance my other cat, Ms. Coco, who can bitch slap Mr. Marmar and still eat snacks simultaneously. That is unprecedented talent.

The talented Ms. Coco

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Yankee readers! Make sure you eat ’till you puke, zing your family all day and sleep yourself into a coma! That’s what today is all about!

French designer Raphaelle H’limi uses fabrics to its fullest potential by experimenting with textures and folding. There’s that 3D trend again….  Those glasses are pretty hilarious. It’s like these frames I once made for my place with beads, rhinestones and anything that resembled candy. My favorite out of the bunch is the first photo- looks very Japanese. I bet I could recreate that with picnic napkins… maybe not. H’limi interned for Emilio Pucci and Christian Dior at one time. That’s pretty major. She’s definitely one to watch!

This is season the avant-garde designer had safaris, old cartoons, and aviation on his mind. It’s like vintage Moschino was reincarnated as Jean-Charles Castelbajac , which is a compliment to say the least. I’m digging the zebra shoulders, and Felix the Cat print (although those pajama pants need to go) and the trench coat/dress. I’m not sure if The Little Prince is popular in the US, but it is in Europe, so somewhere it’ll be a cool outfit. Of course, my favorite has to be the sunglasses vest. Kinda reminds me of that statue in Soho with multiple boobs.  Anyway, I still like the Castelbajac ode to The Muppets collection better.

The guy that writes the blog Swallow Glitter made these impressive gloves! It’s definitely like “Edward Scissorhands”, as Outsapop says. It’s like like every piece of broken jewelry  and hardware on a leather glove. And it’s brilliant! I’d wear those gloves if I was roaming a sketchy neighborhood. I’d be flashing my hands like ‘jazz hands‘ to any one suspicious. Which brings me to this story… once I had to go to this beauty store in South Central LA because it was the only shop that carried human hair in my shade of Bozo the Clown red. So, I walk in and the guy behind the counter was spooked and there were 2 cops asking him questions. Already I was like, crap! So, I go in take my merchandise faster than you can say “bitchdonttouchmyweave.” Apparently, a transvestite with a gun  dressed to the nines in broad daylight robbed stole shipments of human hair. The f*uck? No cash, JUST HAIR! HAhahahahaah! I thought that was amusing. Anyway, I’d wear these on my next trip to that beauty store.
