—————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

So here are some cool and weird stuff that I’ve been meaning to post about separately but decided to throw all the strange and unusual into one post. I know, it’s like one huge bizarre post but trust me it’s better this way- get the crazziness out of the way!

-Anywho, I think the most peculiar one is the Oven Lounge- whoever made that has a bounty on his head from Betty Crocker. Sh*t’s gonna get real when she shows up with an electric mixer, rubber gloves and a a tub of lard at his front door. I don’t even know where I’m going with that one so let’s get on the next one.

-Rubber Duckies are cool especially ones with tea leaves up their whoo-has. Ha ha.

-The Inner Beauty shirt is definitely a cannibal’s dream menu. Just add Chianti and fava beans. Yeah, so I necessarily wouldn’t wear that.

-Plug and Socket ring is a nice alternative to those cheezey broken heart necklaces. Except it seems the plug has the upper hand in most violent situations.I’ll take the plug.

-Check out the cool street art on Mercer St. in NYC – although it’s probably hidden under the snow and ice right now.

-Ride the skeleton bike… perfect for causing car accidents and freaking out small children and the elderly. The head and arms move when you make a turn.

Voila!

Humans Since 1982 must have seen one too many Japanese horror movies. When I first saw this, it took me a good 5-7 minutes to realize that the eyes are actually a hair clip. So, that photo is actually the back of some lady (or lady dude’s head). Creepy, huh? That’s something to wear in a really long line of people. Either you’ll get lots of compliments or  side-eyes reserved for lunatics. Anywho, these are limited edition with only 50 and cost $90. I say just cut out a magazine with your choice of celebutard eyes and tape it to the back of your head. Voila! Or order them here.

Check out this human body ball gown with heavy embroidery and bead detailing! It is pretty awesome. I would totally wear that to a drug company soiree.  If you want to see more of this Chinese designer check out the links below- pretty rad stuff! There’s one photo with a dress/skull cap and another with a short skirted dress- all equally fantastic!

*Sorry I couldn’t repost the other photos, but it wouldn’t let me grab the photo and I’m too lazy to figure it out. But alas, thedoppleganger from Polyvore has it all figured out:

From Polyvore – thedoppleganger:

“This is the original source of the photo:http://www.flickr.com/photos/miyake77/4559647489/ There are more photos from the show on that photostream, and here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/charles_studio/4449645410/From what I know, it’s from March 20th during China Fashion Week, so it’s Fall 2010. It was held at Shih Chien University (http://fashion.usc.edu.tw/c/work/fweek.asp) and the title of the show is “Artificial Beauty”. The designer’s name is listed in Chinese and I’ve translated it to search for them on Google, but no luck for anything in English. Chinese: 陳俐瑾 / 林志純 / 楊淳如 English: Chen Lijin / Lin pure / Yang Chun as. It’s a little confusing because of the language, but it’s all I could find.”

Wish I could post more photos, but definitely check out the links!

The original French punk did it again! I have to say this collection was by far one of the best Gaultier collections I have seen in a long time. The fact that it’s Haute Couture makes it even more impressive because although some of his designs can be costume-y, these are actually wearable, yet unique. My fave is definitely the last photo with the can-can skirt. BRILLIANT! If I wore that I’d make an excuse to lift my skirt as much as possible. The fifth photo of the black and white striped organza dress is just perfect. Why can’t movie stars were this stuff on the red carpet instead of the ho-hum, safe, FUG  dress?? All these incredible dresses and they end up with the one uninspiring dress that every JCPenney can knockoff. Really. Anyway, Gaultier has absolutely regained his special place in my heart!

PornStache mug cozy by  Knot workshop

Lego Keyboard by Beta Time

Knit beard hat by Poor Girl Couture

Knit heart and ovaries by An Optimistic Cynic

Sometimes I like to scroll through Etsy for stuff that are effed up someway. Take for instance the knit ovaries. Really? And then I like to see things that I contemplate ordering like the knit beard hat. It’s like super cozy and excellent for bank robbing! Seriously, though, I see a trend in the knit department- it’s like knitting is the new medium for all things kitsch. I guess anybody can knit and and you can take the project with you like on the subway sitting next to a man who is  sitting in a box.  I threw in a little lego keyboard that I thought was awesome!

Enjoy!

PS- I would have my tea or coffee without cream when that cozy is on the mug! Just sayin’!

Student designer Klara Kalicz  of  MOME, the Hungarian University of Art and Design, came up with a brilliant collection of metal backbones and what looks to me as plastic tubing?? It’s like a project with materials from The Home Depot, which I always thought is a great challenge I would love to do one day. I would totally head straight to the plumbing department and raid the copper crap. I love copper- it’s like antique-y, yet robotic. Anywho, who knew a Hungarian could design non-gypsy clothes?! I love it! I’m thinking I should take a bunch of triangle paper clips and put it on my head. I like how fashion gives me a license to do effed up stuff like that. Let’s keep our eye on Klara…

You know what I like when I see a stuffy suit ? A touch of cool and unusual here and there whether it be in the cufflinks or tie/bowtie or in a punky haircut or something. As long as they don’t look like a used car salesman, I’m good.  So, boys….. check out Retro Classy Cufflinks for cool cufflinks that can make the worst suit look awesome! My son would go ape sh*t for the Star Wars legos. Speaking of, we had a Star Wars marathon at the house, which entailed of every damn star wars movie there ever was, homemade Star Wars gingerbread cookies, and of course, putting together a Star Wars lego battleship. It was pretty intense.  By the way, Ewoks RULE! Miss Darcheen has some Ewok in her,  methinks:

Right?!
