Australian designer Gail Sorronda is Dolce and Gabanna’s newest muse. So much so that they have stocked their shop Dolce & Gabanna Spiga 2 store in Milan with Gail’s designs. I really like the balloon pants in black sheer and the ribbon dress. Fashion forward, yet not too over the top where it looks contrived. I’m not a fan of black usually, but the designs are unique enough to stand apart from the crowd. Having said that, the hat in the second photo is perfect as a cat toy.

Artist Peter Gronquist pimped his weapons ‘couture-style’ by putting logos on everything from chainsaws to uzis. Quick question: If you get mugged by someone with one of these guns, would you drool and swoon before dropping your wallet or would you still be scared sh*tless? For me, I would try to get into that ‘cool equipment’ banter and try to convince the mugger that I’m ‘on his side’ and stuff and maybe even suggest holding up someone less fashionable- ‘ya know what I mean? Actually, I’d probably run. Anyway,  I can totally picture Donatella Versace’s bodyguards toting a Versace machine gun while she chain smokes under the scorching Miami sun. Check out Peter’s site for other fupe stuff including a Mickey Mouse Jesus and a fruity Darth Vader.

Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2009 show was heavily influenced by Pajamas. Not Eddie Bauer flannel pajamas, but rather the slinky, satin pajamas associated with glamour and luxury. I think this collection was cleverly designed, although there are a few pieces that are questionable. The overall shape and silhouette of the collection was of an easy fit, but the large shoulders are a little tough to carry on a petite woman. Perhaps ,if ‘Dynasty’ was still around, big shoulders would be appropriate. All in all, I think Dolce & Gabbana took a risk with the pajama theme and it turned out fine in my opinion.
