British designer James Hock‘s latest collection is consists of only the colors red and black and a strong harlequin theme. Basically, it’s like the circus in an Asian restaurant. Lucky for James, I like the circus and I like Asian restaurants. The only thing I’m unsure of is the half shorts/half pants look. About 95% of the times that I wear pants, it means that I was too lazy to shave my legs. So those pants would just confuse me- to shave or not to shave?

Check out James’ older collection that belongs on Queen Latifah back in her U.N.I.T.Y days. I really like the boxy look, especially the ‘b*tch, get off my sidewalk’ shoulders. The last photo is something I’d wear to a cat show. Mr. Marmar could jump on my shoulder and use my hat as a scratching post. I love it all!

Central Saint Martins Graduate Isabel Czernin Fishlock’s 2010 collection was all roses! Okay, more like orchids… I’m terrible with gardening by the way ( everything I touch dies and I can’t tell a flower from an herb), so let’s just generalize and say flowers. Anywho, I’m more into bows than flowers, but I can appreciate a good flower-y dress, as long as it’s not like those fugly flower dresses from JC Penney. I am really digging the harem pants in the third photo (or “jihad” pants, as I call them). You could totally go shoplifting in those bad boys. Bravo for Isabel!

So I scoured the web again and came up with these odds and ends. I wasn’t sure how to file these, so I just decided to throw a post with just a hodgepodge of unusual fashions. Forgive me for not citing which is what designer. I’m lazy today and let’s just say I’m concealing their identity for their own good. Let’s get on with it , shall we?

1. Fugly Chaps- Apparently, these are upcycled pants. So, it went from Fug to SuperFug with more effort. Hooooowwww is that possible?

2.The fluffy white dress- I actually sort of like this because it reminds me of Bjork’s fuzzy sweater on the cover of her Debut album . I can see her wearing this. I can see myself wearing this. It looks so fuzzy and cuddly, as if you’re wearing a billowy cloud. Actually, with this dress, there are no need for cat-cuddles. Mr. MarMar will strike upon me at any moment after that comment.

3.Lobster Garters- That’s all sorts of wrong. Crustaceans should not be hanging near your lady parts. At least they’re not crabs. having said that, I’d love a steamed lobster with drawn butter, please.

4. The Cone head- I’m sorry, but you gotta add some ruffles if you want a more Elizabethan look. This just looks like veterinary paraphernalia. That chick’s head looks alien.

Voila!

Where’s Tonya Harding and her crow bar!? Kidding. This is the high fashion version of ice skating complete with a wedgie photo.  Designer Hannah Menzies gave us the ice skating- during 1960’s -Communism- look. I’m kinda digging it. So is she^^. I’ll stop. I think the tan and the pastels make for a real Floridian retirement community feel , as well or Marni. That being said, I think I would wear this!

I was graciously invited to preview the fantastic jean company, Hudson Jeans, new lines of denim called DIY at The Colony nightclub in LA. I especially love the harem pants in the fourth photo. They were a jean material, but much softer than stiff. The zipper pants are pretty hot, too, although the zipper just an illusion. They don’t really come apart. I thought those would be ideal “all-you-can-eat buffet” pants since you could unzip as you get fatter at the buffet, but I was mistaken. The patchwork denim jeans in the fifth photo is actually made from vintage Hudson jeans, which makes it pretty damn special. I think my favorite is the corset laced jeans. You can’t really tell from the photo, but the jeans were sort of satin-y and nice to the touch. Definitely a cat magnet. That’s good news for cat ladies everywhere (including me!) Anyway, Hudson is also venturing into comfortable and chic tops such as the one above. It’s a wool jacket with an oversized lining that felt like “butta”. It was sooooooo soft. I wanted to curl up in it and purr. These pieces will be available at Barneys NY and Jeffrey. As always, Hudson’s other line is available at Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s and chic boutiques.

Two fashion things I hate in this world  (except for scrunchies and UGG boots) are sweatpants and khakis. Alexander Wang had a personal vendetta to make me cringe and vomit  when he designed his Spring 2010 collection. Why do I dislike these two hideously, inferior fabrics, you ask?

-Khaki’s remind me of frat boys wearing khaki’s. They also remind me of safari wear, which in turn reminds me of the movie,   Out of Africa and further spurs my memory to the time when  I was 7 and was forced to see this movie in a theater with my family. That was one expensive and uncomfortable nap. Scarred!

– Sweatpants reminds me of my tween, tomboy stage where I wore yellow Benetton sweatpants endlessly. It matched the family car- a yellow Toyota ( nefariously nicknamed the ‘Bina-Banana mobile’). Scarred, once again!

Stop this insanity!! Serenity now.
