Fur Fur‘s Spring 2011 Collection was a plethora of BOWS!!!! You may already know that the world and time stops infinitely for me when I see a Bow on a head or dress because I just love them so! It’s like when Mr. Marmar hears the shake of the snackums bag. He freezes and then pitter patters towards the snack like he’s denying he’s been OWNED by a lousy snack bag. Then he gobbles everything up in 10 seconds.Cat snacks aside, Fur Fur has introduced an adorable collection of Snoopy (or Snooby!), BOWS and that hairdo from the 1960s that you can recreate on Yearbook Yourself. I love love love this collection! Check out Japan Streets for cool photos from the Japanese streets and local fashion shows.

Givenchy really is on a winning streak lately. The Spring 2011 Couture collection was only 10 looks long, but each one was a smash hit! With embroidery and detail work that took as long as 4,000 hours, Givenchy is setting a new standard of couture. I guess this is when creative meets OCD, which I totally  love ! I’m especially loving the mongo Viking hat that can fit several midgets in. Givenchy’s inspiration supposedly was Japanese Anime, which I kinda see and don’t see. I think after a few episodes of  Yu-Gi-Goh! ,everything starts looking manga-ish. I also like the smidge of neon/pastel color in the back. It’s like elegant  in the front and a rave in the back. I give this collection my stamp of approval courtesy of Miss Darcheen and her luscious lip licking.

That’s a damn honor right there!

I discovered works by Onch Movement at Los Angeles cosplay/art cafe, Royal T. Jewelry with a small slab of meat inspired by Lady Gaga’s meat dress at the MTV Music Awards are available as a bracelet or necklace. I personally wouldn’t wear this just because I think it’s sort of gross, but if you like the meat look, but don’t want to reek of rotten flesh, then this is for YOU! But if I had to wear it, I would wear it to a zoo, naturally. The crocodiles would shoot me  a “bitch, please” look. The California condors would be all like, “guuurrrl, did you NOT see ‘The Birds’?”. And the lions would be like, “Mmm, appetizer” (because I’m small and petite).

Anyway, I’d advise you not to wear this around a pitbull. Check out Onch Movement and their other stuff. I threw in a whipped cream and cherry ring for dessert.

Heavens!! The Hello Kitty Carnival came to town (Santa Monica, CA) and naturally, I dropped everything and went. Seriously, I was turning Japanese by taking photos of every single detail. Here are a sliver of all the photos I took. It was like Sanrio exploded and each glitter turned into a damn carnival game. It was like the smoke became artwork with it’s own booth. It’s was like Twin Little Stars fluttered from the heavens and said, “Make mine a 99”. It was like…  I’ll stop there. But you get what I mean.

Anyway, there was a mini-golf, ferris wheel, carnival booths, artwork from famous artists, like Joe Ledbetter, a Hello Kitty pop-up shop (with a 2 hour wait to get in) and loads of food trucks, and yummy desserts. Pretty much what I expect in heaven when I kick the bucket. I hope God is taking notes.

Anywho, I wore a vintage mohair cape from Scotland, powder blue Hunter boots, Vivienne Westwood handbag, Benetton argyle knit skirt, and house ring by We Wear. My hair was an unfortunate experiment with my hot curlers- never again.

This is definitely on my Christmas list! It’s an iPod/ iPhone dock speaker system in a steroid-size Be@rbrick. It comes in white or black  (no Pink?) and retails for about $180. If I get one, I will certainly bedazzle the hell out of it- like make it look all diamante and stuff.

Also, to get into the holiday spirit, check out these 400% Nutcracker Be@rbrick by Dr. Romanelli x Medicom Toy. This retails for about $88, which is sort of a bargain seeing it’s very large one. Brilliant work, I say!

Fashion students from over 61 different countries competed during Tokyo Fashion Week at New Designer Fashion Grand Prix. Yuya Miura was awarded the Grand Prix prize (her looks are the top two photos).

I have to say these fashion students are sometimes better than the top designers only because they can really design what they want and not feel constrained by financiers and the pressure to sell that collection afterwards. Yay for students who don’t give an eff!

By the way, that “hat on a hood” look in the 3rd photo is the bizarro version of something I do when I roll out of bed and drop off my kid off at school.

Reminscent of other Japanese designers like Comme Des Garçon, Tao unveiled its spring 2011 collection with  mostly simple white and black ensembles embellished with ruffles. There was an air of the Victorian era with the neck ruffs and knickers. There were also doody hair dos- no! kidding… they were elongated chignons…. yeah, that’s it. Anyway, I can see myself wearing these, especially the knicker outfit during a leisure walk through a meadow (when does that ever happen?)
