nOir jewelry and DC Comics have joined forces together to bring you jewels from Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. These are not  your Cracker Jack box trinkets, but jewels made of gold and Cubic Zirconia. I’m a big fan of CZ, by the way. It’s like champagne looks for beer prices. Anywho, my fave is naturally the Catwoman claws. I have three rings similar to in that I wear when I’m venturing out into unchartered, sketchy territories such as my beauty shop in South Central LA.  The Gotham ring is pretty rad, too. nOir also has a  gold Brooklyn Bridge ring on their site. I like all of them, except when are they going to make  jewelry inspired by the James Bond girls? That I would die over!

I discovered works by Onch Movement at Los Angeles cosplay/art cafe, Royal T. Jewelry with a small slab of meat inspired by Lady Gaga’s meat dress at the MTV Music Awards are available as a bracelet or necklace. I personally wouldn’t wear this just because I think it’s sort of gross, but if you like the meat look, but don’t want to reek of rotten flesh, then this is for YOU! But if I had to wear it, I would wear it to a zoo, naturally. The crocodiles would shoot me  a “bitch, please” look. The California condors would be all like, “guuurrrl, did you NOT see ‘The Birds’?”. And the lions would be like, “Mmm, appetizer” (because I’m small and petite).

Anyway, I’d advise you not to wear this around a pitbull. Check out Onch Movement and their other stuff. I threw in a whipped cream and cherry ring for dessert.

Designer Margaux Lange woke up one day and decided to dismember her Barbies and wear them as adornments around her body. Gotta love Marge! This totally reminds me of when I was a youngster and would tear apart Barbies as if I were cannibal preparing for the night’s feast or as if  I were Lauren Conrad and the Barbie was Heidi Montag. Anyway, I love this however, because I’m a twisted soul, I would dab a bit of red nail polish around the the limbs. You know, for a bit of horror. These pieces are around $100-$150 at her Etsy store.

Designer (and cake decorator) Emily Miranda ( she has TWO first names )uses alligator claws and rabbit paws in her jewelry. She also uses seashells and gems, but I thought the claws and paws would be more dramatic. The gold talons on the alligator is pretty cool, actually. It reminds me of this. If you look closely in the second photo, a claw is holding on to the bracelet just like a toddler would. I can’t really deal with rabbit feet (paws) because it remind me of my beloved Mr. Marmar. He totally has rabbit feet (they smell like popcorn- I dunno why) and he’s white.  Check out her site for more odd art and some pretty amazing cakes. I hope her cake decorating area is separate from her alligator claw stash.

Mr. MarMar - look at dat fathe!

If you admire The Crypt Keeper’s hands, you too can have that look…. for $27,000 ! It’s a a bracelet by Italian jewelry designer,  Delfina Delettrez . This has a Ruby stone on it that could pass for a boil. I love it anyway! This reminds me of Skeletor in a big way. In case you have forgotten, Skeletor is the arch-enemy of He-man in the comic/cartoon of  Masters of the Universe. I know, you’re thinking ‘she seems to be more Jem than Masters of the Universe!’ Anyway, I would totally wear this to an orthopedic surgeons shindig.

Emiko Oye has designed jewelry with legos. Before I say anything, I want to let you know that I have a lego bracelet from Shana Logic that I bought for $18 about 5 years ago. $18! That was a super deal!

Oye has produced  a more upscale version with precious metals or not.

Her latest collection,”My First Royal Jewels,” (made entirely from recycled LEGOS)  just finished a four month exhibition at the San Francisco Museum of Craft + Design). Those are the necklaces in the first two photos. In my opinion, even though I am a huge Lego fan , I find the above hella fug. It looks like a locator device from a mothership and not in a cool way. Lucky for us they are not for sale. The third photo is a bracelet that is for sale. Check out her site if you want to see other lego designs, including earrings and necklaces.

** For all the Mommy’s-I wash my son’s legos alone in the dishwasher – it washes the gross away and it totally works!**

Lindsay Pemberton has found a new use for old teacups- She cuts and sands (hopefully!) them down to make porcelain bangles. I think that’s a cool idea, except for the fact that they are porcelain so you have to walk really slow and make no sudden movements for fear of a bloody wrist. This is not baby, cat or husband friendly jewelry. Basically, you wear this while sitting at home while watching TV- and not just any TV ,but something calm and boring,  like a marathon of ‘Masterpiece Theater’, because you don’t want to cut yourself while laughing , pointing or changing the channel. Actually, this belongs on a corpse to be on the safe side.
