The talented Andrea Kett sent me a link to this wonderfully, whimsical website called Undergrowth Design. They sell brilliant tea sets with dangling legs that I may have to break the bank to add to my collection. I already have the Alice in Wonderland tea set and the Bailey’s winking boy and girl set, but this would easily trump all of it as the most precious! The quirky upside down dress as a sundae dish and spoon legs are a great addition to anyone’s china cabinet. Even Grandma would giggle and blush!  Check out Undergrowth Design for more cool stuff. I’m gonna have to order some before I explode.

Those gowns are beyond gorgeous. If I had that gown, I would wear it everyday. Like food shopping, to the post office, the dentist, you name it! It resembles bones and is bone color, which I find awesome. Givenchy only had 12 looks in this collection, but they are all beautiful. I’m totally for quality , not quantity.

Bones also resonated in the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2010 Haute Couture show- Check out Dita von Teese with a corset by Mr. Pearl with accurate bone detailing… so chilling, it’s cool! I’ll take two, JPG!

Elle Decor gave Jean Paul Gaultier a few rooms to go ape sh*t  in and look what he gave us! Absolutely fantastic! I like how JPG is sitting there like Where’s Waldo? I still see you, JP. The best part of this exhibit was the doll bedspread. It sort of looks like Marie Osmond is rising from the satin bed, all satan like. I loves it! But that’s only because I collect dolls- a normal person would be creeped out , I suppose. Speaking of Jean Paul Gaultier dolls- I have a the Spring 2000 Limited Edition Jean Paul Gaultier Porcelain Doll that is sitting in a corner collecting dust. I may turn into a bedspread!

The annual ‘What you won’t ever see at a Victoria’s Secret store’ Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show came and went and I completely missed it. Usually, I mark my calendar for this crap, but due to lack  of interest, I didn’t. The only outfit that I found remotely cool was the first photo of a steampunk pair of wings and Sherlock Holmes-y corset dress. The rest looked like a craft show from all the Project Runway rejects- a complete Cheeeeeeze fest with a side of hooch. Seriously, you walk into a Victoria’s Secret and none of these runway pieces are there- it’s just a bunch of sweatpants with ‘Pink’ written on the butt, padded bras (so 90’s) and a bunch of little pink dogs here and there. Sorry for being such a Grinch, but after you watch this video, you will see why I think Victoria’s Secret is on the lame side.

So, today is the moment of truth of whether I was naughty or nice this year. Mr. Marmar decides.

Chrisrian Lacroix has a reputation of building an ensemble with so many different patterns and textures that may give onlookers a strained eye. In his 2009 Couture collection, Lacroix actually toned it down a bit (if you can believe it). No longer a circus show of the past, this collection was actually rich with embroidery fit for a Russian princess with Lacroix’ s signature  splash of bright colors and whimsy. My favorite from the entire collection is the first photo of a blue suit. That ensemble is sure to make any lady look like a porcelain doll, or Dita Von Teese, which in my book is the epitome of beauty. The one thing about Lacroix is his ability to maintain his signature look throughout all these years and still have people recognize his designs without looking at the tag or asking. That, to me, is a an achievement.
