Dayum! That is some caarrrrrrrazzzzy hair! Like it’s hair that doubles as shelter. It’s like your own little portable room. Photographed by Takahiro Ogawa for the Asian Beauty Expo and hair creations by Peter Gray & Masa Honda, these gems are sure to make anyone with Hirsute jump for joy. It’s like a Supermodel Sasquatch! I appreciate all this artistry though, because I have .081847% of the hair above and I still can’t get it right sometimes. Like this morning,I woke up with my ponytail on top of my head and bits of Mr. Marmar fur lodged within it. Damn cat keeps burrowing in my hair at night. But I have to say Mr. Marmar has the most luxurious fur in all of time! It’s like a cloud of cotton candy and the fanciest silk spun together to make this magical fur that is… Mr. Marmar. I can’t hate him for having luscious fur, therefore I can’t be mad that he wants to bond with my hair like that dragon thing in Avatar! Mr. Marmar tames Roxy ,  NOT  Roxy tames Mr.Marmar! And just like that Mr. Marmar gave me a ‘b*tch, recognized!’ look.

British designer J. Smith Esquire makes fantastic hats and accessories fit for the modern Victorian lady. Is that an oxymoron? Hmmmm… I’m especially digging the fur hats- it’s like a cat on your head- that’s always good in my universe. I also love the stained glass hat. Speaking of stained glass, here are some photos I took of the newly remodeled Limelight in NYC:

Stained glass is the best! It’s like a forever rainbow! (yes, I’ll always be a four year old at heart.)

Anyway, the that neck piece in the fourth photo is pretty killer! That’s a statement piece if ever there was one… Brilliant work, J!

New York designer Dennis Basso used  ballerina colors for one of the most simple, yet beautiful collections at New York’s Fashion Week. Not many collections stood out since they were mostly a regurgitation of the 1970s, but this collection did because it was actually pretty. I love the fur accents and pale nudes and creams… maybe the movie Black Swan had an effect? Either way, it was a refreshing break from all the FUG  seventies-wear plaguing New York Fashion Week.

Etsy is one of my favorite sites to look for cool stuff, however, sometimes I run into effed up stuff like this. Luckily, that’s what my blog thrives on!  So, if you ever wanted Cabbage Patch Ear Muffs, here they are. They should make a Garbage Pail Kids version. I used to collect those cards when I was a kid. I would buy several at a time and shove all the gum in my mouth. My favorite card was Acne Amy and Peeled Paul. Yeah, I had issues as a child. Anyway, I thought this Glowing Fur Coat and Bra would be something I would wear in the 90’s to a rave. I mean, raves gave you a license to wear Muppet fur and be cool, right?? I threw in some  Tuxedo Candle Shoes and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Shoes. I thought you ‘d like that.

So, Karl must’ve Netflixed ‘Harry and The Henderson’ as of late because dude went all Big Foot on us! Honestly, I’m digging the fur. It looks like fake fur, which makes it even more fun. The models have caveman hair* , which I find FUG. A long way from the heart hair for Spring Couture 2010. Apparently, Karl brought in REAL glaciers from Switzerland for the show and had the models slosh through the melting ice during the show. Seriously, Karl should’ve had a city bus run through the runway splashing everyone if he really wanted to keep it real. I’ve been a victim of the splashing puddle in NYC. The worst part is people point and laugh… until it happens to them (like me!)  So, I like this collection- but I don’t love it. Having said that, I would wear that fur jumpsuit to Disneyland and see how many kids run up to me.

*Remedy for Caveman Hair: Brazilian Hair Products company, nuNAAT sent me a bunch of goodies that smell divine and work really well. Their products are made with ingredients from the Amazon, like aloe vera, açai, and passion fruit. Basically, you totally want to eat it….but don’t eat it. Anyway, because I dye my hair red every  two-three weeks, my hair can get pretty fried. I used nuNaat’s  Naat Cream Buriti (dyed and discolored hair) and it completely transformed my hair- AND it has SPF, which protects your hair and your dye job from the sun. They have a line of chocolate shampoo and conditioners and other yummy stuff. Check out their stuff here.

cr_buritiIt looks like strawberries, but they are Buriti from the Amazon. It smells soooooo  good!

British designer Louise Gray marches to her own tune and I love it. Full of color, spunk and London street-style, her Fall 2010 collection went against the the other dreary and depressing collections shown at Fashion week. A little Muppet fur never hurt anyone (except muppets, I guess) and adds to the playful, fun collection. I personally would wear the fur overalls because :

a)it’s pink

b) it’s fluffy and cuddly

c) I feel like Animal is close to me

d) it’s pink

Also, It’s great to do some dusting in that outfit. I have a feeling my 4 year old would never let go of me if I wore that. I also predict those weird fetish people into mascots would also never let go of me. I may skip this look, after all.

Gareth Pugh’s Fall 2009 collection was more toned down than his past collections. Very clean and modern with a touch of the bizarre, Pugh unveiled heavy  dresses  and coats in a futuristic foil finish. On the flipside, he also showed slim fitting pants and jackets with some patches of thin fur resembling, dare I say, a lady in waiting for her first wax session of the season? Pugh showed his collection the non-traditional way of a video presentation, like Victor & Rolf last season. I think the collection is intriguing enough for buyers to go to the showroom and see this up and coming designer’s wonderful work.

PS- I love the peek-a -boo jacket above- Perfect for days when you don’t want to wear lipstick or have a cold sore! (ewww!) kidding!) The dress is great for when Aunt Flo is visiting. Hide the bloat!
