French designer Raphaelle H’limi uses fabrics to its fullest potential by experimenting with textures and folding. There’s that 3D trend again….  Those glasses are pretty hilarious. It’s like these frames I once made for my place with beads, rhinestones and anything that resembled candy. My favorite out of the bunch is the first photo- looks very Japanese. I bet I could recreate that with picnic napkins… maybe not. H’limi interned for Emilio Pucci and Christian Dior at one time. That’s pretty major. She’s definitely one to watch!

Jeremy Scott and  Linda Farrow have teamed up with these sunglasses in the shape of old TV’s. This is beyond geeky and I kinda like it. I wonder if you can get cable with that. Ha Ha. I’ll stop right there. In all seriousness, this is very Devo.  I’ve been liking Jeremy Scott’s stuff lately, especially this collection. Let’s hope he keeps it up … You can find these bad boys at  Opening Ceremony. Here’s some Devo to start your day off…

Alexander McQueen’s Spring 2010 collection unveiled some fantastic shoes that belong on a steampunk robo-chick! I would wear this around town with a brown, leather bomber jacket and these goggles below. By around town, I mean dropping my kid off at school, the post office, food shopping, and the gyn(that’s not me). I ‘d even lend the five lens goggles to my gyn during the exam because ‘hospitality’ is my middle name!  Anyway, the DIY (gob’ment cheese version– mmmm, cheese) version of the eyewear can be made with the bottom photo as a guide. Just glue gun a bunch of metal you find at the bottom of your kitchen drawer to a pair of glasses. Then pray you don’t poke your cats as you give then a sweet nuzzle. It could turn into a bloody nuzzle.

Portuguese designer, Luis Porem designed these ink- filled glasses called ‘rgb rainbow glasses’. You can change the color of the glasses as often as you wish with any color. I wonder if it leaks?? That would definitely burn the eyes! I don’t like this… The shape of the glasses are a little too nerdy , also the frames are too thick. I have thick black glasses, but they are pretty sleek compared to these. These glasses just need a Groucho Marx nose and mustache and you’re good to go. It sort of reminds me of those loopy straws. I loved those straws when I was kid! Those straws got me to drink milk.

Reversible Glasses

These glasses are silly! First of all, if you need  prescription glasses, these are all wrong because you could just get the glasses that change tint when you go outside. Second, does the sunglass part of it have a prescription built in? If not, you’re extra blind because it is also dark. Not to mention, they are oh so elderly chic …. Bottom line- these are fug.
