So,  I have to show you my gnome outfit I wore recently to my interviews with Elton John, Emily Blunt and James McAvoy for Gnomeo & Juliet. The movie was adorable! As a huge fan of gnomes ( Exhibit A and Exhibit B), I had to go all out and spread to everyone my freakish love for gnomes. Don’t laugh, but everyone has a weakness- mine happens to be miniature bearded men in pointy hats with an affinity for gardening.

I am wearing a skirt by Made With Love By Hannah, shoes by Irregular Choice, shirt from the depths of my closet, and cardigan by Anthropologie. Lilly pad/ladybug hair clip from Patricia Field‘s circa when I still had a pager and Hair Rosettes by ‘Tressa the Hairdressa’ from PuppycatMeow.

By the way, I wish they made this in my size! By DollFace girls.

On a recent trip to Paris, I discovered this great chain of boutiques called La Chaise Longue. Unfortunately for me, this wonderful shop is only in France, but they do have a webshop. You can imagine the cost of shipping to the US. The one thing that I really loved and wanted was the mushroom table and stools. It would go perfect with my gnome-y atmosphere at home! But the shipping was pretty much equal to the cost of the set. Yikes! Here are my fave picks from this gem of a store:

1- Mushroom table set

2- High Heel Tea infuser

3-Reusable plastic tea infuser

4- Macaroon headphones

5-Telephone cuff links

6-Pastel knife set

Be sure to check out their cool site, La Chaise Longue.

I love and collect useless little figurines, especially ones of woodland creatures and gnomes. So, this is right up my alley! The Victorian outfits make them even more irresistible. I have to say my curio cabinet can be all kinds of creepy in the middle of the night. Even my cats sleep with me in the bed for fear! Check out The Runny Bunny on Etsy. If you always wanted a ceramic bunny in drag, then you’ve come to the right place. Speaking of bunnies and cute woodland creatures, check out this teddy bear horror short below (NSFW-  for Bear-on-Bear Violence):

Check these cool hats by Zara Carpenter and Dadaya!

Let’s start with the wounded Bambi- As you may know, I love gnomes and deer. So this would be fantastic addition to my wardrobe. Although, the arrows in the deer’s butt is cruel, I still like it because it’s so macabre. It costs about $450, so I better start saving those pennies!

The mini-beret is adorable! Perfect for my gnome in my garden!

My friend , ‘Tressa the Hairdressa’, designed these awesome hair/head pieces. I asked her to do a teacup to go with my Alice in Wonderland outfit and she came up with the above photo. Seeing that I love gnomes (like LOVE, I have a gaggle gnomes in my home), Tressa made a mushroom hat for days when I feel like prancing through the forest with my little gnome looking for ladybugs. (What? Doesn’t everyone do that?) And , last but not least, the ‘rosettes’ made of matching hair for a ‘Rose” effect! Those are great because you slide them on and it looks like you had you’re hair done at the hairdressa! You can order these and many others at Puppycatmeow.

PS- I made the photos look like a storybook with the ‘vignette’  and ‘antique’ option on my iPhoto…Good stuff!

PPS- She also did the Lady Gaga Bow for me as seen on an earlier post!

Ravensbourne student Marie Moltere designed this collection made with neoprene. In case you didn’t know, neoprene is the thick, stiff, waterproof fabric used for Scuba diving. I have a neoprene jacket and skirt set from Hysteric Glamour . It was during my Raver days. That damn outfit used to make me sweat! But it was killer. So I wore it anyway. These outfits above are kind of cool except for the mushrooms. You either have to be a gnome or a slice of pizza to wear this without looking fupe. Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum and shrooms were on Moltere’s mind when she designed these. Or something fungal… I’ll stop right there.

Berber Soepboer & Michiel Schuurman of The Netherlands designed a dress that you can color in yourself! I love that. The dress itself is OK, but I like the concept more. They should make dresses that are color by number, so you can have a cool drawing of a flower or  gnome or something. Color by numbers is  great for people like me who can’t draw. And for toddlers. That model has different color legs, I like that.
