So I dyed my hair over the Christmas break since I was so sick of dyeing my hair fire engine red every 2 weeks for fear of the skanky look. Seriously, half the month my head was under a hat because the color was fading and the roots were sprouting. I put it end to that by dyeing my hair my natural color ( kinda funny to dye your hair your natural color). Anywho, the talented Tressa the Hairdressa sent me a whole new batch of hair creations in my new color from her Etsy shop Puppycatmeow. Above are some cute Valentine’s themed hair accessories and I will post soon about the  hair creations. I had to break it into 2 posts since there was so much stuff! My favorite is the Valentine Rose hat! It matches my Valentine’s rose corset from Victoria’s Secret from 1997! Yes, I still have it. And check out the red human hair extensions- pretty cool if I want to go punky for the day or night. Check out Puppycatmeow ‘s shop for awesome hair creations!

British designer J. Smith Esquire makes fantastic hats and accessories fit for the modern Victorian lady. Is that an oxymoron? Hmmmm… I’m especially digging the fur hats- it’s like a cat on your head- that’s always good in my universe. I also love the stained glass hat. Speaking of stained glass, here are some photos I took of the newly remodeled Limelight in NYC:

Stained glass is the best! It’s like a forever rainbow! (yes, I’ll always be a four year old at heart.)

Anyway, the that neck piece in the fourth photo is pretty killer! That’s a statement piece if ever there was one… Brilliant work, J!

Australian designer Gail Sorronda is Dolce and Gabanna’s newest muse. So much so that they have stocked their shop Dolce & Gabanna Spiga 2 store in Milan with Gail’s designs. I really like the balloon pants in black sheer and the ribbon dress. Fashion forward, yet not too over the top where it looks contrived. I’m not a fan of black usually, but the designs are unique enough to stand apart from the crowd. Having said that, the hat in the second photo is perfect as a cat toy.

If you’re under the Witness Protection Program and you like hats, this one’s for you! It’s like a mask and hat in one- it’s a twofer! Designer Zara Gorman made these masterpieces of mystery after a visit to Crate and Barrel’s housewares section. No. These are actually really cool and I love the shiny black, lacquered look. I think my favorite is the fifth photo. It’s like a macabre unicorn and horse blinders in one- Awesome! If I had the hat in the fourth photo, I would totally use it as fruit bowl when I’m not wearing it. I’d put green apples in it like a fancy hotel.

Check out these hats from Italian hat designer Federica Moretti ! I love love love them! I think the snail hat is pretty rad. I would wear that to a French restaurant and say, “don’t eat me”- ahahahahahaha! I digress. Anyway, I can see a grown-up  Madeline wearing the hat in the first photo. Hats are one of my favorite accessories, but unfortunately when I wear one around my parts, I get the stared at like I’m wearing a damn ballgown to an Arby’s opening in Montana. Here is one hat  for the boys:

It’s like the love child of a hoodie, gladiator chest plates and a wicker chair from Boca Raton.

On one of my recent trips to NYC, I stopped by Henri Bendel (I’ve been going there since I was 13) and saw that they have switched to only accessories, jewelry and handbags. No more clothes and shoes. It’s so sparkley now! My cats would have a ball. Hell, I had a ball! Anyway, I stumbled upon these really cool hats by French hat designer, Selima. Each one is handmade at her studio/boutique on Bond Street in NYC and also is available at Henri Bendel. Selima provided hats for Malandrino’s Spring 2010 Collection and many socialites. Check out her cool site for custom made hats, blog and contact.

Besides busting on designers on this here classy blog, I also moonlight as a fashion stylist. I gotta hustle for my kid’s cookies, candies and toys, right? No, I really love styling, especially if I am given the creative freedom to express my fashion dreams. I’m speaking codes right now. I’ll translate: As long as it’s not a Sears catalog, I’m happy( and there is an endless supply of Cadbury and tea at the craft service)! Anyway, I worked with photographer,Chelsea Hewitt, who I met through Sebastian International, a lovely makeup artist (who’s name escapes me) and a gorgeous German model (who’s name escapes me, also -shame on me!) that was sporting a Billy Idol do (loved it!) and was like a chameleon. We chatted about weinerschnitzels, Kauf-Hauf and Nuremberg- it was fantastic. I hope you enjoy these photos- these are all from my personal collection. Contact me if you have questions about the origin of any accessories- each has a little story behind it.

PS- See more of my fashion styling at my website under the Photos section. Be sure to turn on your volume and pet the kitty on the home page!
