First things first- Did John Galliano change is name to Monchichi Galliano because he looks straight up Monchichi. That hair! Kidding, how can I mock the genius known as John Galliano! He’s  done it again! Brilliant designs for Christian Dior’s Spring Couture  line with fabrics dyed to look like watercolors and cuts that are distinctly Dior. You can never fail with the classic 1950’s silhouette in my book. My favorite has to be the lemon-colored gown. Reminds me of that iconic Dior photo. I also love the dress in the 8th photo. So fluffy, so soft, so….  Mr. Marmar! Anywho, I think Dior takes the Haute Couture crown this season.

Goodness Gracious! These gowns are to die for … Seriously, Marchesa needs to pack up and move to Paris because that is where they belong- amongst the incredible haute couture houses of our time. Let’s start with the stunning shoulder/neck jewelry on some of the dresses. I love love love the glitz and glamour it lends that only the 1930s did so well ( I also love jewelry built into a dress). Each gown’s hue is so delicate and reminiscent of an elegant ballerina ( we also saw that at Dennis Bosso– definitely the movie  Black Swan is in the air). I’m especially digging the nude and lace gown- some of these gowns remind me of Dior and John Galliano’s couture line over the past couple seasons and also Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture lines from several seasons ago. Identical silhouettes and soft, feminine fabrics- but always flattering on any woman.Anyone who brings on the glamour is A-ok in my book! Yay, Marchesa!!

John Galliano decide to shower us with a bouquet of flowers including the plastic floral wrap. All he was missing was the powdered flower food that no one every uses [insert own drug joke here]. I like how Galliano ignores the “plastic can suffocate for his models. But that’s not important… Take a look at each dress. Each one is a specific species of fleur. My favorite is the black one and the blue/pink gown. Such beauty! As usual, Johnny struck one of his infamous poses at the end and he’s wearing a beekeeper’s hat/veil. So fitting! I can’t hate on a genius. Truly. Viva Dior!

The poufy hair, the skinny pants, the bows , the ruffles… THE PINK! Oh, Behave! I’ll take ten of each please, in case one is in the wash. John Galliano did it again! It’s like Paris meets Austin Powers on a delicate spring day! I used to wear my hair like that about ten years ago before Snookie and Bumpits. I used this plastic coil that looked like a rabid squirrel’s tail to achieve ‘the pouf’. I always had a suspicious eye out for a menacing squirrel whenever I passed by a tree whenever I rocked ‘the pouf’. Enough about me. Galliano must have been playing with his Barbies (you know he does) while watching Paris …When it Sizzles” …or he had a “Nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhea”?? I still love it!

Designer Guo Pei is Hong Kong’s answer to Alexander McQueen. Cutting edge and beautiful, Pei is finds the balance between Eastern elegance and Western modernism. Those shoes are fan-friggin-tastic! And the dress in the last photo is gorgeous! If you drop an earring or something, you’ll never lose it! The blue and white gown reminds me of John Galliano- it’s stunning nonetheless. All this 3D origami designs going around is nice and all, but how do you sit? That’s the question of the day. Anyway, Pei is definitely one to watch! Watch his awesome fashion show below.

John Galliano’s Fall 2010 collection was pretty genius in my book. I really loved the folkloric theme and the muted grey colors. It was like a mountain lady was going to a really fancy function and none of the city gals pointed and laughed anymore because the mountain lady actually looked better than the city ladies.  And then a ravishing prince named Galliano rolled up to the fancy function with his sword and did a three snaps in a Z formation and whipped out his sword* and whisked away the mountain lady!  Feel free to wake me from the novella going on in my head. Anyway, I really liked this collection.

*John Galliano is wearing a real damn sword in case he needs to cut a b*itch.

Horseback riding, Gibson girls, and vintage Charles James gowns gave John Galliano his inspiration for his couture show. I am a big fan of the horseback-riding look, all the way down to the riding crop.  I think it’s an elegant sport, and horses are just so majestic and gentle. So naturally, I loved this collection. If I had a horse, it would be a white Arabian stallion. I would put a pink rhinestoned, unicorn horn on it for special occasions, like my birthday. I would name the horse Mr. Moosh. Basically, it would be my cat,  Mr. Marmar as a horse. I’m way off track here, but yes, I do think things through. Galliano is officially on my ‘Never can do eff up’ list.
