Heavens!! The Hello Kitty Carnival came to town (Santa Monica, CA) and naturally, I dropped everything and went. Seriously, I was turning Japanese by taking photos of every single detail. Here are a sliver of all the photos I took. It was like Sanrio exploded and each glitter turned into a damn carnival game. It was like the smoke became artwork with it’s own booth. It’s was like Twin Little Stars fluttered from the heavens and said, “Make mine a 99”. It was like…  I’ll stop there. But you get what I mean.

Anyway, there was a mini-golf, ferris wheel, carnival booths, artwork from famous artists, like Joe Ledbetter, a Hello Kitty pop-up shop (with a 2 hour wait to get in) and loads of food trucks, and yummy desserts. Pretty much what I expect in heaven when I kick the bucket. I hope God is taking notes.

Anywho, I wore a vintage mohair cape from Scotland, powder blue Hunter boots, Vivienne Westwood handbag, Benetton argyle knit skirt, and house ring by We Wear. My hair was an unfortunate experiment with my hot curlers- never again.

Kitty Keay is still in fashion school, but her designs look like they belong to a veteran fashion designer. Part Irregular Choice and part Jean-Charles Castelbajac, Kitty Keay marries cute with elegant, flawlessly. You can’t do wrong with pastels and bears in my book. I’m especially loving the fringe jumpsuit! So fun, yet chic! Fringe is fun to wear especially if you’re moving around a lot. The carwash effect is the best. I’m keeping my eye on Kitty because it’s like she’s inside my brain. That’s kinda hard- my eye on her while she’s in my brain. Anyway, what I mean is she’s definitely one to watch because she has great taste!

YESSSSSSSS!!!!!! Sanrio and Doc Martens have teamed up for the Hello Kitty Doc Martens in three styles! I love love love love love the white ones!!! They will be out this summer sometime and I’m sure it’s gonna be super popular. That’s the thing, when it becomes super popular, that’s when I don’t want it anymore… hopefully, it not too popular!

Check out these AWESOME necklaces and rings at We Wear on Etsy ! I’m dying over the carousel necklace and ring. Seriously, I love love love carousels and ride one every time one is in my path. It used to be silly before I had a child, now I use him as a cover. Anyway, they are all hand-made and will color the carousels to your preference. I also saw a house ring on at the store that I adore. My doll-obsession continues (yes, that’s me!) with these pieces. Yessssssss!Check out their Etsy store for more cool stuff, like a vintage airplane ring and bunny ring.

Those Japanese don’t fupe around when it comes to their nails! These are some pretty elaborate designs for such a miniscule area of space. Kawaii Nails offers a wide range of cute pre-made designs that would make Lee Press-Ons cry. Ranging from fruit, sushi, bows, bears, hello kitty, desserts, the toilet bowl, a steak dinner… no, only cute things and it should be pink (which I have qualms about!) When I was a younger and a more punky Roxy, I too, wore nails that discouraged me from biting my nails and made wiping my ass a daunting task. Here’s proof. Anyway, you can get the kits here. Remember, keep it pink and cute as possible to keep yourself looking like a Long Island house wife
