This is some ah-maze-ing dresses by Amato Haute Couture . I have never heard of this designer until I saw this on Haute Macabre. Turns out they are out of Dubai and only do couture gowns, but really they need to move their ass to Paris and sign up (it’s like signing up for a badminton team, right?) to be part of Couture week there. I see some Gaultier and Givenchy in the dresses, but it’s still uniquely gorgeous. And nude is my new favorite color- It’s like only you’re lady parts are covered in jewels and the lace. I also like how the dangling baby makes for a sprinkle of madness. Anyway, I am totally going to keep Amato on my radar.

Givenchy really is on a winning streak lately. The Spring 2011 Couture collection was only 10 looks long, but each one was a smash hit! With embroidery and detail work that took as long as 4,000 hours, Givenchy is setting a new standard of couture. I guess this is when creative meets OCD, which I totally  love ! I’m especially loving the mongo Viking hat that can fit several midgets in. Givenchy’s inspiration supposedly was Japanese Anime, which I kinda see and don’t see. I think after a few episodes of  Yu-Gi-Goh! ,everything starts looking manga-ish. I also like the smidge of neon/pastel color in the back. It’s like elegant  in the front and a rave in the back. I give this collection my stamp of approval courtesy of Miss Darcheen and her luscious lip licking.

That’s a damn honor right there!

The Heel Condom is probably the most simple way to class up a pair of heels. That is if your definition of classy is a leopard leotard with matching fingerless opera length gloves. No! Some of the designs are actually ok. Puerto Rican designer  Sandrysabel Ortiz (picture her with a margarita in hand  and  wearing a marabou robe from the latest Forplay catalog) designed these clever contraptions to dress up any boring pair of heels. They make even the cheapest heels, well… even cheaper. Kidding! Go to the site, ignore the  The Nanny-inspired music on the site, and get yourself a pair!

I swear that’s the same plastic covered lace I use as placemats. In any case, this collection by Jessica Madden is really awesome! I mean the ruffles, the lace, the shiny plastic! It’s like I’m in Elizabethan heaven! Madden has just graduated The University of Westminster and this was her senior fashion show. She is definitely one to watch as she has major talent. I can spot talent a mile away, by the way. Take for instance my other cat, Ms. Coco, who can bitch slap Mr. Marmar and still eat snacks simultaneously. That is unprecedented talent.

The talented Ms. Coco

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Yankee readers! Make sure you eat ’till you puke, zing your family all day and sleep yourself into a coma! That’s what today is all about!

Only one thing came to my mind after seeing Christopher Kane’s Spring 2011. MACAROONS!! Maybe I’m just hungry for Macaroons…. These were my 2 fave looks from Kane’s collection, the rest were bleh to me. I always like a bright, cheery skirt suit. And the lace is pretty cute- I , myself am always partial to doily fashion. Lace can be either super trashy or really cute- this falls under cute, luckily. This is excellent wear for an afternoon of tea and macaroons! It’s four o’clock tea somewhere in the world right now, right?

Goodness Gracious! These gowns are to die for … Seriously, Marchesa needs to pack up and move to Paris because that is where they belong- amongst the incredible haute couture houses of our time. Let’s start with the stunning shoulder/neck jewelry on some of the dresses. I love love love the glitz and glamour it lends that only the 1930s did so well ( I also love jewelry built into a dress). Each gown’s hue is so delicate and reminiscent of an elegant ballerina ( we also saw that at Dennis Bosso– definitely the movie  Black Swan is in the air). I’m especially digging the nude and lace gown- some of these gowns remind me of Dior and John Galliano’s couture line over the past couple seasons and also Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture lines from several seasons ago. Identical silhouettes and soft, feminine fabrics- but always flattering on any woman.Anyone who brings on the glamour is A-ok in my book! Yay, Marchesa!!

I love doilies. My house has lots of lace and doilies to get that dollhouse look. These are rubber doilies used as coasters- so elegant! This way you can use it again and again and not get pissed if someone tears the doilie or stains the lace (I’m not that nuerotic… I don’t think)

The irony of this vase is that the factory blooms a flower instead of smog. There is something Cold War about this that I love. Reminds of my Three Gun Vase ( yes, that’s me with Mr. MarMar). I wonder if it comes with hard working children…

So, you get a stain on your shirt because you’re a damn slob, what do you do?

A) Ignore it and pretend it’s not there and look gross in the process

B) Run home and change because you’re super self conscious

C) Put a jacket on and hide it

D) Attached one of these Pets for a Puking Pet look , after all , you meant to do it ’cause you’re so downtown.

I would choose C… but, some of you crazy kids may choose D. They come in different colors to match stains like, ketchup, mustard, grease, or baby barf.

All pretty affordable and available at Miss & Lady’s Boutique.
