Artist Richard Saja takes toile ( you know, that wallpaper in your foofy nana’s bathroom) and adds mohawks, clown attire and anything extraordinary via needlepoint to those frolicking old-timey people. So, in honor of Fashion’s Night Out a few weeks ago (I know I’m sooooo late on this), Opening Ceremony and Keds teamed up with Richard Saja ( is he related to Sanjaya? because that would be really hawt.) to make toile Keds. Keds just got a total upgrade because last I remember, Keds were for square, preppy kids in the 90s. Basically, if you liked New Kids on the Block, you wore Keds (and no I wore Docs and clogs ( don’t laugh)). Anywho, I can deal with toile Keds- actually, I love love love toile so I gonna hunt these down and make a pair MINE! What a tangled web we weave!

Jeremy Scott and  Linda Farrow have teamed up with these sunglasses in the shape of old TV’s. This is beyond geeky and I kinda like it. I wonder if you can get cable with that. Ha Ha. I’ll stop right there. In all seriousness, this is very Devo.  I’ve been liking Jeremy Scott’s stuff lately, especially this collection. Let’s hope he keeps it up … You can find these bad boys at  Opening Ceremony. Here’s some Devo to start your day off…

Designer Dora Abodi from Budapest showed her Spring 2010 collection in New York recently. I totally appreciate the quirky, fupeness mixed with a dash of cute. Any collection that utilizes my mantra color, pink, is on my hit list. (Not in a Soprano’s kind of hit, by the way.) Anyway, girly and avant-garde, Dora seriously needs to call a ho at  Barney’s or Opening Ceremony.  This would be perfect for those stores. Check out her website for the cool intro page featuring a hot chick twitching as if she has Tourette’s. The deconstructed hand muff is pretty awesome! Perfect excuse for when you don’t want to shake hands with anybody.

To celebrate this month’s opening store in Tokyo, Opening Ceremony has teamed up with Jeremy Scott for some truly (troll-y) effed up stuff. Lucky for us, this atrocity is limited edition…. it’s a shirt with a Madonna-ized troll on the front and “Troll or Dare- World Tour” on the back. I think Jeremy may have been roaming Venice Beach listening to ‘Vogue’ after watching a marathon of ‘Full House‘. (insert Olsen twins joke here). Why does this shirt remind me of this? Anyway, I used to collect those trolls when I was a kid. I had every color and tried to tie them together by their hair to form a circle for no good reason. Hey, I didn’t say I was a Mensa member.

**Simply Spray/Teacups & Couture Giveaway Contest**

The person with the most  retweets (twitter)  of  ANY of my posts (see green retweet button below) between now and September 4 (midnight PST) wins a 6-pack of Simply Spray Black Upholstery Spray. That’s enough to cover the fugliest couch that ever was!

How can I tell who retweeted my posts? Because I’m a hot bitch that knows all. No, because I can see it on the retweet thingy. Once the winner is determined, I will tweet you a message for an address on September 6. I will also announce the winner on September 7th on this blog.

So, start retweeting my posts- for the love of an un-fug couch.

Bonne Chance!

Chloë Sevigny  released a limited edition (at least the FUG is less spread around the world) collection again in conjunction with Opening Ceremony. I keep asking myself , ‘where have I seen these pieces before?’ and then I remember it looks like the rejects from Sal’s boutique. It also reminds me of  the unfortunate girl in high school who eats tuna sandwiches for lunch. I could probably recreate each of these looks for less than $2 (granted we use the $1 per lb. method at many thrift shops). At least Sevigny, isn’t making Vincent Gallo movies anymore and it keeps the kid off the streets.
