London-based designer Mary Katrantzou has won my heart! Where did she come from? A relative newcomer, already she has the vision of a , well visionary. As a huge fan of trompe l’oeil fashion, these dresses were Fantastic with a captial F. I especially  love the bell skirts and the curtain trim detailing. The colors are great for spring, too- lively, happy, and PASTEL! Theses dresses are like living in mansion, but without the mansion. I mean you can look out into the ocean out of a window decorated with gardens upon gardens and not leave your house ! … or dress! It’s like a walking timeshare commercial! The only thing missing is a foufy persian cat curled up giving you kitty kisses near the door way. That’s all I ask for, but I can deal with it.  I would take one in every color, errr I mean every picture. Mary Katrantzou is definitely one to watch.

Kitty Keay is still in fashion school, but her designs look like they belong to a veteran fashion designer. Part Irregular Choice and part Jean-Charles Castelbajac, Kitty Keay marries cute with elegant, flawlessly. You can’t do wrong with pastels and bears in my book. I’m especially loving the fringe jumpsuit! So fun, yet chic! Fringe is fun to wear especially if you’re moving around a lot. The carwash effect is the best. I’m keeping my eye on Kitty because it’s like she’s inside my brain. That’s kinda hard- my eye on her while she’s in my brain. Anyway, what I mean is she’s definitely one to watch because she has great taste!

Let’s take a break from the hoity-toity fashion shows with this. Dr. Marten has released some really cool pastel colored boots. I remember wearing Docs in High School, but the colors were pretty basic back then. This was when grunge was big, so I used to wear these with flower  dresses and a knit sock hat. Pretty hideous by today’s standards. It was Marc Jacobs fault….and Nirvana.   Anyway, these go for about $114, which is pretty good since these will last you forever. I wonder if these come in the up the knee version…
