Designer Thom Browne unveiled a collection that would make an egg rejoice.  Really, though, I actually like it and appreciate the new silhouette. After seeing form-fitting hoochie -wear for a while now ( does the hooch ever go out of style? Probably not),  it’s refreshing to see that not everything is T & A. God, I sound like a friggin’ nun. Anywho, anything plaid is always cool in my book as is the fuzzy, mohair look. My favorite has to be the uptight Victorian with the cage skirt in the 6th photo. I always liked cage skirts! I think my least favorite is the third photo with the Sasquatch mid-section. It’s like a hairy arm muzzle for cold mental patients. Anywho, yay for Thom Browne for stepping a bit out of the boundaries which is always unusual during New York Fashion Week.

British designer J. Smith Esquire makes fantastic hats and accessories fit for the modern Victorian lady. Is that an oxymoron? Hmmmm… I’m especially digging the fur hats- it’s like a cat on your head- that’s always good in my universe. I also love the stained glass hat. Speaking of stained glass, here are some photos I took of the newly remodeled Limelight in NYC:

Stained glass is the best! It’s like a forever rainbow! (yes, I’ll always be a four year old at heart.)

Anyway, the that neck piece in the fourth photo is pretty killer! That’s a statement piece if ever there was one… Brilliant work, J!

I love and collect useless little figurines, especially ones of woodland creatures and gnomes. So, this is right up my alley! The Victorian outfits make them even more irresistible. I have to say my curio cabinet can be all kinds of creepy in the middle of the night. Even my cats sleep with me in the bed for fear! Check out The Runny Bunny on Etsy. If you always wanted a ceramic bunny in drag, then you’ve come to the right place. Speaking of bunnies and cute woodland creatures, check out this teddy bear horror short below (NSFW-  for Bear-on-Bear Violence):

Los Angeles -based Beat Up Creations just knows what the public wants- vintage china plates with Gizmo right in the center! This makes tea time such a treat with a bear-faced Marie Antoinette staring back at you through a scatter of scone crumbs! *Swoon*! My favorite has to be the Elizabethan ET or the cat in uniform. Hell! They’re ALL my favorite. Beat Up Creations also does zombie portraits, so make sure to check out their Etsy store. There were seriously too many to post, but they ALL are just lovely and kitschy! Aaaaaand , they are all upcycled. Brilliant work!

Reminscent of other Japanese designers like Comme Des Garçon, Tao unveiled its spring 2011 collection with  mostly simple white and black ensembles embellished with ruffles. There was an air of the Victorian era with the neck ruffs and knickers. There were also doody hair dos- no! kidding… they were elongated chignons…. yeah, that’s it. Anyway, I can see myself wearing these, especially the knicker outfit during a leisure walk through a meadow (when does that ever happen?)

London-based designer Meadham Kirchhoff showed a candy goth-inspired look for Spring 2011. I’m really digging the colorful goth look- is that an oxymoron by the way?   If it is, I like it! The Victorian ruffles, the bright colors, the peter pan collars… awesome, fabulous, and fantastic. It’s like Wednesday Adams broke free from the deep, dark depressed look and dropped acid. No! Drugs are bad! Don’t do it, kids. But really, if Wednesday Adams visited  Willy Wonka’s factory and stuffed her face with banana Laffy Taffy, cotton candy and licorice – this is how she would look. A++ all the way.

Latvian fashion stylist/designer/illustrator Baiba LaDiga latest series include a creepy bunny (that looks kinda robotic and animatronic- actually Chuck E. Sleaze would totally adopt that one) running around the ‘hood looking for someone to harass for carrots. I really love the jacket with the poufy sleeves- so Victorian! That Chinese sign is totally throwing me off, though.  Here are another set of photographs by Baiba LaDiga ….

These are ‘The Birds’ series with dresses designed by LaDiga. Those are plastic strips on the dress so naturally a pleasant snap and crackle are heard as you walk. Pretty cool, huh?
