Givenchy really is on a winning streak lately. The Spring 2011 Couture collection was only 10 looks long, but each one was a smash hit! With embroidery and detail work that took as long as 4,000 hours, Givenchy is setting a new standard of couture. I guess this is when creative meets OCD, which I totally  love ! I’m especially loving the mongo Viking hat that can fit several midgets in. Givenchy’s inspiration supposedly was Japanese Anime, which I kinda see and don’t see. I think after a few episodes of  Yu-Gi-Goh! ,everything starts looking manga-ish. I also like the smidge of neon/pastel color in the back. It’s like elegant  in the front and a rave in the back. I give this collection my stamp of approval courtesy of Miss Darcheen and her luscious lip licking.

That’s a damn honor right there!

POOFskirts on Etsy has the gear for that one tacky raver with the binky hanging around her neck. I mean, I’ve been there and done that like a over decade and half ago- so I can’t really hate. Two things come to mind when pom-poms come to mind: Bobby socks and arts & crafts at a daycare. I have a pair of bobby socks with a neon pink pom pom at the ankle. One fell off so it looks like quite pathetic. But I wear it anyway. My son likes to stick googly eyes to large pom poms for a gaggle of fuzzy monsters. I think googly eyes on each pom pom on this skirt could qualify it to be borderline creepy. That may just work to the skirt’s advantage. If you’re about to rave through the night and/or want to entertain small children, this just may be for you.

Etsy is one of my favorite sites to look for cool stuff, however, sometimes I run into effed up stuff like this. Luckily, that’s what my blog thrives on!  So, if you ever wanted Cabbage Patch Ear Muffs, here they are. They should make a Garbage Pail Kids version. I used to collect those cards when I was a kid. I would buy several at a time and shove all the gum in my mouth. My favorite card was Acne Amy and Peeled Paul. Yeah, I had issues as a child. Anyway, I thought this Glowing Fur Coat and Bra would be something I would wear in the 90’s to a rave. I mean, raves gave you a license to wear Muppet fur and be cool, right?? I threw in some  Tuxedo Candle Shoes and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Shoes. I thought you ‘d like that.

500x_ledeyelashes

Designer Soomi Park has designed the strangely fascinating LED lashes ! I really like this because you never need a reading light. I wonder if things look hazy  if you blink too fast… Awesome! It’s like an instant RAVE! This puts glow sticks to shame. This should be mandatory for people with wonky eyes. However, I have a feeling if you cry… you’ll be screwed! What a way to go blind! I think I just talked myself out of this absurdity…Why does this remind of Laser Cat?? Watch below for the LED lashes in motion.

Ravensbourne student Marie Moltere designed this collection made with neoprene. In case you didn’t know, neoprene is the thick, stiff, waterproof fabric used for Scuba diving. I have a neoprene jacket and skirt set from Hysteric Glamour . It was during my Raver days. That damn outfit used to make me sweat! But it was killer. So I wore it anyway. These outfits above are kind of cool except for the mushrooms. You either have to be a gnome or a slice of pizza to wear this without looking fupe. Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum and shrooms were on Moltere’s mind when she designed these. Or something fungal… I’ll stop right there.
